"Tai Chi for Better Balance – Advanced Class" is an evidence-based fall prevention program for older adults. Classes last approximately 45 minutes and include warm-up, core tai chi and cool-down exercises. Participants will work on more intricate and challenging movements. The goals of the training are to improve postural stability, control of body positioning, gait initiation, movement symmetry and coordination, and lower extremity strength.
Chair-supported practices, progressing from completely seated through sit and stand to chair-assisted movements, are included to meet the needs and performance capabilities of individual participants.
Note: There will be no class on September 3, October 8, Novemeber 12 or November 22.
